Gryoscopes are know to work as a stabling device. The gyroscope resists "tipping".
(Tipping = Tilting) This is the effect that stablizes bicycles.
When a gyroscope is supported by
both ends (when the wheel is spinning in the virtical plane) and one end support is removed, the
toy will hang in space. The force of gravity pushing down on the entire gyroscope causes
a tipping force on the disk, which the disk resists.
We know that rotation generates a force equivalent to the the force of GRAVITY near the rim
of a rotating disk. The centrifuge stress trainer shows this effect. An aether flow coming from
this rotating device would exactly explain the results.
That aether flow is the source of the force needed to effect this gyroscopic stablizing result.
The aether is thrown out at the circumference (the rim) and is sucked in from both sides.
When the disk is tipped, the disk causes the "to" side to run into the already moving aether,
causing a resistance, and the "from" side to form a partial vaccum, which augments the resistance
from the other side.
Since there is no evidence of a flow of aether coming out of the rim, the more likely picture
of the aether flow looks like the picture on the left.
This explains why the resistance (to tipping) is immediate, and exactly matches the "tipping" force.
Now all that is left is to explain the force that generates the procession.
